Fronted by the dynamic sibling duo of upright bassist Caroline Parker and guitarist Cullen Parker, Southern Angels delivers a progressive and soulful blend of Gram Parsons space country meets The Beatles winding harmonies.
The sibling duo began their journey in music 15 years ago, both learning guitar in elementary school. From then on, the two fell in love with an array of instruments, picking up everything from piano and drums to cello and saxophone. Heavily influenced by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Brandi Carlile, and Sturgill Simpson, Southern Angels draws their sound from a mix of psychedelic rock and country music. Cullen and Caroline both value storytelling through music and believe that at the center of the human experience lies a love for harmony and rhythm.
Located in San Marcos, Texas, the two enjoy spending time outdoors and garner songwriting inspiration from the waters that flow through central Texas. The backbone of the band consists of Central Texas natives Stormy Anderson (lead guitar), Evan Granberry (drums), and Shane Dickens (keyboards).
Caroline and Cullen have been active in the central Texas music scene for the last decade, with Cullen playing in the Austin-based blues rock band, Vermillionaire (appeared live on KUTX and at various venues around Austin), and Caroline leading indie-rock band Red Mango Vinyl (appeared at Utopia Fest, Stubbs, Moontower Saloon, and many more).
